SAN MARCOS (11-30-2018) / (UPDATED 12-01-2018) – Palomar has landed four players on the first team and five players on second team on the Southern California Football Association's National Division All-Central Conference selections voted by conference coaches.

ALL-CENTRAL CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM:

The Comets voted to the first team are offensive utility player Devin Nilson, inside linebacker Chris Calhoun, punter Jacob Stepanek and kick returner Lamar Raboteau.

Nilson is a 6-foot-0, 180-pound sophomore out of Carlsbad High School. Calhoun is a 6-foot-1, 210-pound freshman out of Mission Hills High. Stepanek is a 6-foot-3, 205-pound freshman from Temescal Canyon High in Elsinore. And Raboteau is a 5-foot-8, 165-pound freshman from Mira Mesa High School.

Running back Rhamondre Stevenson from Cerritos is the conference's Offensive Player of the Year. End Joey Noble from Fullerton is conference Defensive Player of the Year. And El Camino's Gifford Lindhelm was voted as conference Coach of the Year.

ALL-CENTRAL CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM:

Two heavily-recruited NCAA Division I FBS prospects both were named to the offensive second team – wide receiver Mikel Barkley, the Comets' 5-foot-11, 165-pound freshman who came as a qualifier out of Great Oak High in Temecula who is taking trips to some of the best programs in the nation, and quarterback Connor Curry, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound redshirt freshman from Evangel Christian High in Shreveport, Louisiana, who originally was offered by Clemson before spending a redshirt season at Division II national power Ouachita Baptist University.

Comets also voted to the all-conference second team: center Anthony Escalante, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound freshman from Rancho Buena Vista High and, on the defensive side of the ball, outside linebacker Josh Bernard, a 5-foot-11, 205-pound sophomore from Oceanside High; and Jay Craft, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound redshirt freshman cornerback from Cherry Creek High in Cherry Creek, Colorado and a transfer from Kansas State.

CENTRAL CONFERENCE HONORABLE MENTION:

Palomar's honorable mention selections are defensive tackle Nick So'oto (redshirt freshman, Parkway High in Bossier, Louisiana Northeastern State), linebacker Spencer Kaoanga (freshman, Oceanside High / Air Force Prep)), defensive back Louie Flores (freshman, Mission Hills High), offensive linemen Brayden Lindholm (freshman, Moses Lake High in Moses Lake, Washington), Francisco Rodriguez (freshman, Sickels High in Tampa, Florida), and wide receivers Malachai Russell (freshman, El Camino High) and Logan Gamble (redshirt freshman, St. Anthony High in Long Beach / Cal.
