Hughen named April Athlete-of-the-Month, Montes receives honorable mention

Softball player, Allie Hughen was named Athlete-of-the-Month for April for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. Hughen is a sophomore pitcher and infielder for the Comets.

Throughout the season, Hughen has pitched 77 innings and has 113 strikeouts. She led the PCAC with an ERA of 0.73. She has pitched four shutouts on the season and has completed seven games. Hughen has allowed six doubles, two triples and one home run as a pitcher this season.

As a hitter, Hughen has a batting average of .364. She's had 28 hits, including three doubles and one triple, and 17 RBIs.

Golfer Jacob Montes picked up an honorable mention award. Montes will be competing individually at the state golf tournament for Comets. He just won the PCAC tournament with a total score of 822. At the SoCal Regional, Montes shot a 68 in the first round and a 71 in round two, for a total of 139. Montes was named an all-conference player and was Athlete-of-the-Year for golf.
