Palomar drops two conference matches at Grossmont College

SAN DIEGO, CA (4/3/2026) -- Palomar fell to Grossmont College 5-0 and San Diego Miramar College 4-1 on April 3 at Grossmont College, dropping to 4-13 on the season.

Grossmont was in complete control of the opening match, sweeping all five flights in straight sets. The Comets were unable to push any flight to a third set, with margins ranging from 21-7 to 21-18 across the lineup.

Against Miramar, Palomar fared better but again came up short of the team point. Bambe and Maffitt took care of business at No. 1, sweeping Kawalski and Jerrell 21-14, 21-12 for the Comets' lone win of the day. Pinto and Garcia came closest to adding a second point, falling in a tight 19-21, 19-21 decision at No. 2. Miramar took the remaining three flights to close out the match 4-1.

Palomar is 4-13 overall and returns to MiraCosta College next Friday to face San Diego Mesa College and MiraCosta.
