Palomar drops two conference matches at Mt. San Jacinto College

Palomar fell to San Diego Miramar College 4-1 and San Diego Mesa College 5-0 on March 13 at Mt. San Jacinto College, dropping to 3-8 on the season.

Emma Bambe and Reese Maffitt provided the Comets' only bright spot of the day in the opening match against Miramar, grinding out a three-set victory at No. 1 — 21-19, 21-14, 15-12 — over Madelyn Wutzke and Gabriella Gutierrez. Miramar took the remaining flights in straight sets, including wins at No. 2 through No. 4 to secure the match.

The second match against Mesa proved even more difficult, with the Comets unable to win a flight across the lineup. Bambe and Maffitt were tested at No. 1 but fell 21-18, 21-15, and Mesa swept through the rest of the order without dropping a set.

Palomar is 3-8 overall and will look to rebound next week when the Comets face Grossmont College and San Diego City College at MiraCosta College.
