EL CENTRO, CA (9/26/2025) -- Palomar men's soccer opened conference play with authority Friday, defeating Imperial Valley College 4-2 on the road.
The Comets wasted no time, breaking through in the 4th minute when Jakub Kozlowski finished off a setup from Ismael Zavala. After the Arabs equalized in the 15th minute, Palomar answered with two more before halftime. Kozlowski buried his second in the 25th minute off a feed from Isaac Garcia, then completed his hat trick with a penalty kick just before the break to give the Comets a 3-1 lead.
Imperial Valley cut the deficit to 3-2 in the 72nd minute, but Palomar slammed the door ten minutes later. Ibrahim Joubran connected on the insurance goal in the 82nd minute, assisted by Artem Sydorenko, to secure the win.
Goalkeeper Bruin Bailey earned the victory in net as Palomar (3-3-2, 1-0 PCAC) opened conference play on the front foot. The Comets will continue PCAC action Tuesday night on the road against Southwestern College.
