Comets Drop First Conference Match at Cuyamaca

RANCHO SAN DIEGO, CA (10/17/2025) -- Palomar men's soccer saw its unbeaten streak come to an end Friday afternoon, falling 3-0 on the road to Cuyamaca College to close out the first round of PCAC play.

The Coyotes capitalized in the 20th minute to take the early lead, then added insurance goals midway through and late in the second half to secure the win. Despite generating several chances, the Comets couldn't find the finishing touch against a disciplined Cuyamaca defense.

The loss was Palomar's first in conference play, bringing them to 7-4-3 overall and 5-1-1 in PCAC action. Even with the setback, the Comets finish the first round of league play in a three-way tie for first place alongside Cuyamaca and MiraCosta College.

Palomar will look to regroup and start the second round strong next week as the push for the postseason continues.
