COSTA MESA, CA (3/6/2026) -- Palomar men's volleyball dropped a road conference match Friday afternoon, falling in straight sets to Orange Coast College, 25-11, 25-20, 25-18.
The Pirates, ranked among the state's top teams, used an efficient offensive attack to control the match, hitting .440 as a team. Palomar found its rhythm in the second set, posting a .400 hitting percentage, but couldn't sustain momentum across all three frames .
Connor Ferguson led the Comets with eight kills on a .312 hitting percentage, while Todd Clemens added five kills and hit .400. Tyler Smith contributed four kills, and both Aiden Gardiner and Josh Garland added three kills apiece.
Clemens also contributed on serve with an ace and helped guide the offense, while the Comets totaled 22 digs defensively as they worked to slow down Orange Coast's attack.
Palomar will return home Friday to host Grossmont College at 5 p.m. in its next conference matchup.
