Men’s Volleyball Falls to Grossmont, Prepares for Road Match at San Diego Mesa

SAN MARCOS, CA (3/11/2026) -- Palomar men's volleyball dropped a straight-set decision Wednesday night to Grossmont College, falling 25-18, 25-18, 25-23.

The Comets showed improvement as the match progressed, turning in their best performance in the third set while hitting .355, but couldn't overcome Grossmont's efficient attack, which hit .392 on the night.

Tyler Smith led Palomar with nine kills and added a solo block, while Connor Ferguson turned in an efficient performance with five kills on a .556 hitting percentage. Aiden Gardiner contributed five kills, two block assists, and a service ace, and Paul Kozmiski added four kills and a service ace.

Setter Todd Clemens recorded 12 assists to go along with two service aces, while the Comets totaled eight aces as a team and continued to show growth offensively throughout the match.

Palomar will look to carry that momentum into its next match on Wednesday, traveling to face San Diego Mesa College for a 6 p.m. first serve.
