Men’s Volleyball Takes Set at Mesa, Prepares for Home Matchup with Miramar

SAN DIEGO, CA (3/13/2026) -- Palomar men's volleyball showed progress on the road Wednesday night, taking a set before falling in four to San Diego Mesa College, 25-22, 23-25, 25-18, 25-17.

The Comets responded after dropping the opening set by earning a hard-fought win in the second, but Mesa regained control in the final two frames. Palomar totaled 26 kills and stayed competitive throughout the match, particularly in the opening two sets .

Connor Ferguson led the Comets with nine kills on an efficient .500 hitting percentage, while Tyler Smith added seven kills and four digs. Aiden Gardiner contributed three kills and three block assists, and Paul Kozmiski added two kills and nine digs.

Setter Todd Clemens recorded 14 assists to go along with three kills and three block assists, while the Comets totaled 37 digs defensively in an effort to extend rallies .

Palomar will return home Friday to host San Diego Miramar College at 5 p.m. in its next conference matchup.
