Men’s Volleyball Takes Set Against Miramar, Opens Second Round vs. Irvine Valley

SAN MARCOS, CA (3/18/2026) -- Palomar men's volleyball earned a set at home Wednesday night but ultimately fell in four to San Diego Miramar College, 25-22, 21-25, 11-25, 14-25.

The Comets came out strong, claiming the opening set behind solid offensive play before Miramar responded and took control of the match over the final three sets. Palomar totaled 26 kills and remained competitive early before the Jets pulled away .

Connor Ferguson led the Comets with nine kills on a .500 hitting percentage, continuing his efficient play at the net. Tyler Smith added seven kills and four digs, while Aiden Gardiner contributed three kills, a service ace, and three block assists. Paul Kozmiski added two kills and a solo block in the effort.

Setter Todd Clemens recorded 14 assists along with three kills and three block assists, helping facilitate the offense. Defensively, Palomar finished with 37 digs as they worked to extend rallies throughout the match .

Palomar will begin the second round of conference play on Friday, hosting Irvine Valley College for a 5 p.m. first serve.
