Men’s Volleyball Falls at Golden West, Prepares for Road Match at Santiago Canyon
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (3/25/2026) -- Palomar men's volleyball dropped a straight-set decision Wednesday night to Golden West College, falling 25-14, 27-25, 25-23.
The Comets battled in the final two sets, pushing Golden West to extra points in the second and keeping the third close, but couldn't complete the comeback. Palomar finished with 17 kills and showed improved competitiveness as the match progressed .
Aiden Gardiner and Connor Ferguson led the Comets with four kills each, while Tyler Smith and Todd Clemens added three kills apiece. Clemens also directed the offense with 11 assists and added a solo block.
Defensively, Palomar totaled 19 digs and four service aces, with Robert Pukahi contributing two aces from the service line. The Comets continued to pressure late but were unable to close out sets down the stretch .
Palomar will return to the road for its next conference matchup, traveling to face Santiago Canyon College.
