Men’s Volleyball Falls to Orange Coast, Prepares for Road Match at Grossmont

SAN MARCOS, CA (4/1/2026) -- Palomar men's volleyball dropped a straight-set decision Wednesday night to Orange Coast College, falling 25-15, 25-17, 25-19.

The Comets showed flashes offensively, particularly in the opening set where they hit .360, but couldn't keep pace with Orange Coast's high-powered attack, which posted a .500 hitting percentage on the night.

Josh Garland led Palomar with nine kills on an efficient .412 hitting percentage, while Tyler Smith added seven kills and hit .385. Aiden Gardiner contributed five kills and a service ace, and Like Pihana chipped in four kills.

Setter Todd Clemens directed the offense with 18 assists and added two service aces, while the Comets totaled 23 digs defensively as they worked to slow down Orange Coast's offense.

Palomar will return to the road Friday, traveling to face Grossmont College in its next conference matchup.
