SAN DIEGO, CA (10/14/2025) -- Palomar women's soccer opened the second round of PCAC play on the road Tuesday, rallying for a 2-2 draw against San Diego Mesa College.
The Olympians struck twice early to take a 2-0 lead, but the Comets refused to back down. Sophia Frederick put Palomar on the board just before halftime, finishing a setup from Emma Gryn to cut the deficit in half.
Palomar kept pressing in the second half, generating quality chances until the breakthrough finally came in the 87th minute. Naomi Allen delivered the equalizer off another assist from Frederick, capping the comeback and earning the Comets a crucial point in the conference standings.
Goalkeepers Nathalie Mancilla and Gianna Belasco combined for seven saves, anchoring a strong defensive second half that kept Mesa off the board after the early surge.
Palomar (6-2-5, 4-1-5 PCAC) will look to build on the momentum when they travel to Imperial Valley College on Friday.
