EL CAJON, CA (11/4/2025) -- Palomar women's soccer continued their late-season surge Tuesday afternoon, rallying for a 2-1 road win over Grossmont College to move into a tie for first place in the PCAC standings.
The Griffins grabbed an early lead, but the Comets came alive in the second half behind their veteran leaders. Lizzy Cook netted the equalizer in the 50th minute on a feed from Naomi Allen, then the two flipped roles twenty minutes later — Allen slotting home the game-winner off a setup from Cook.
From there, Palomar's defense took over. Nathalie Mancilla anchored the back line in goal, holding Grossmont scoreless over the final 40 minutes to lock in the victory.
With the win, the Comets are tied atop the PCAC standings with MiraCosta College, setting up a Friday night home showdown between the two rivals with first place on the line.
