Comets Wrap Up PCAC Season with Final Conference Invite

CHULA VISTA, CA (3/28/2025) -- Palomar College swim teams closed out the regular conference schedule at the third and final Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) Invite, with swimmers continuing to build momentum heading into the postseason.

Men's Highlights

John Fritz again led the Comets, delivering a trio of solid performances across the board. He swam a 5:10.15 in the 500-yard freestyle, a 58.40 in the 100-yard IM, and a 1:05.67 in the 100-yard breaststroke. While slightly off his season bests, Fritz remains a reliable force as championship season nears.

Brian Otto competed in the distance-heavy 1650-yard freestyle, finishing in 20:50.93, and added solid swims in the 200 free (2:08.48) and 100 breast (1:13.67). Kameron Lypps continued his steady improvement with season-best efforts in the 100 breast (1:19.95) and 200 breast (2:57.18).

Women's Highlights

Tiana Timmons took on a tough double, swimming a 19:58.23 in the 1650 free and a 5:18.11 in the 400 IM. Ruby Jones continued her consistent season, dropping time in the 100 IM (1:11.71) and 100 back (1:08.91), and swam under a minute again in the 100 free (59.76).

Emily Freeman hit a personal best in the 200 breaststroke (2:57.57), while Lillian Brown dropped time in the 100 breast (1:26.50). Isabella Moncada swam well in the 200 free (2:26.28), adding to the women's strong overall team performance.

Looking Ahead

Next up, Palomar heads to the Orange Coast Invitational on April 4-5—one final opportunity to sharpen times and finalize championship lineups ahead of the PCAC Championships.
