Comets Sweep Knights on the Road to Extend Win Streak
SAN DIEGO, CA (10/29/2025) -- The Palomar College women's volleyball team continued to build momentum Wednesday night, earning a 3–0 road sweep over San Diego City College (29–27, 25–23, 25–12) to notch its third straight victory. The win improves the Comets to 15–6 overall and 8–4 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play.
Grit Early, Dominance Late
The Comets were tested in the opening two sets, fighting off multiple set points in the first to steal a 29–27 win before edging the Knights again 25–23 in the second. Once in control, Palomar closed the match with a decisive 25–12 third-set victory to seal the sweep.
Team Resilience
The opening frames showcased Palomar's composure under pressure. Key defensive stops and clutch swings in late points made the difference as the Comets leaned on their experience to close out both tight sets. The third set reflected their trademark "JUCO Tough" mentality—crisp passing, clean serving, and dominant attacking to finish the job.
Staying Hot
With the win, Palomar pushes its conference record to 8–4, climbing higher in the PCAC standings as the regular season winds down. The Comets have now won three straight matches and five of their last six overall heading into another crucial stretch.
