Palomar Stuns No. 8 Miramar in Road Thriller

SAN DIEGO, CA (10/1/2025) -- Palomar women's water polo pulled off one of its biggest wins of the season on Wednesday, edging No. 8-ranked San Diego Miramar College 8-7 in a gritty conference battle.

Trailing by three goals in the fourth quarter, the Comets surged back with four unanswered scores to seize the win. Malia Hanss delivered another standout performance with three goals, including the equalizer late in the fourth. McKynley McCulloch netted two goals and added three assists, including the helper on the game-winner.

Mia Fick, Renne Provencal, and Keyanna Mucino each scored once, while Tessa Ferragamo and Fick combined on the setup for a key goal during the rally. Defensively, Ruby Jones tallied three steals, and Kaylin Mihelich anchored the cage with 14 saves to hold off the Jets' late push.

With the victory, Palomar improves to 10-4 overall and 2-0 in PCAC play, setting the tone for the rest of their conference schedule.
