No. 5 Comets Take Series Over No. 24 Folsom Lake

SAN MARCOS, CA (2/14/2026) -- Palomar College Baseball, ranked No. 5 in the state, took two of three games from No. 24 Folsom Lake College over the weekend at Bob Vetter Field, winning the first two games before dropping the series finale.

The series win pushes the Comets to 8-2 on the season against another ranked opponent.

Game 1 – Palomar 10, Folsom Lake 5

The Comets opened the series with a strong offensive performance, collecting 12 hits in a 10-5 victory.

Palomar broke the game open with a four-run third inning and never looked back. Ryan Ham led the way with three hits and two RBIs, while Elijah Stephens drove in two runs. Rainn McMillan and DC Ruth each added RBIs as the Comets capitalized on timely hitting throughout the middle innings.

On the mound, Ryan Herrod worked four innings, and the bullpen combination of Chance Crawford, Jordan Green, Dylan Berentis, and Cody Cappelletti combined to limit further damage and secure the opener.

Game 2 – Palomar 14, Folsom Lake 8

Palomar's offense exploded in the second game of the series, plating 14 runs on 16 hits in a high-scoring contest.

The Comets erupted for eight runs in the third inning, turning the game decisively in their favor. Adrian Macias delivered a huge performance with four RBIs, while Ryan Ham added three hits and two RBIs. AJ Klubeck finished with four hits, and Preston Conklin scored four runs as Palomar's lineup continued to apply relentless pressure.

Joey Navarro struck out seven over 4.2 innings, and Joey Halter followed in relief as the Comets secured the series victory.

Game 3 – Folsom Lake 15, Palomar 5

Folsom Lake avoided the sweep in the finale, taking advantage of big middle innings to secure the win.

Elijah Stephens homered and drove in two runs for Palomar, while Gavin Kramer added two RBIs. The Comets recorded eight hits but could not overcome Folsom Lake's offensive surge in the fourth and fifth innings.

Series Notes

Across the three-game set, Palomar's offense remained productive, scoring 29 runs on 36 hits. Ryan Ham paced the lineup with multiple multi-hit games, while Elijah Stephens delivered power in the middle of the order. Adrian Macias' four-RBI performance in Game 2 highlighted a weekend in which several Comets contributed in key moments.

On the mound, Joey Navarro provided a strong start in the series-clinching win, and the bullpen showed depth throughout the weekend as the Comets secured another series victory over ranked competition.

Palomar is scheduled to host Cypress College on Tuesday at Bob Vetter Field, weather pending.
