Six Comets Earn All-SCFA Southern League Honors
Six Palomar College football players were recognized by the SCFA Southern League for their standout performances during the 2025 season, highlighting a resilient group that battled one of the toughest schedules in the region.
Furious Hoskins — First-Team Offense (Unanimous), Wide Receiver
Sophomore wide receiver Furious Hoskins earned unanimous First-Team All-Southern League honors after delivering one of the greatest receiving seasons in program history. Hoskins finished the year with 41 receptions for 695 yards and four touchdowns, averaging nearly 100 yards per game.
His record-breaking performance at Riverside, eight catches for 291 yards and three touchdowns, including the 99-yard touchdown that now stands as the longest play in Palomar football history, was one of the top individual efforts anywhere in Southern California this season.
Chris Bausch — Second-Team Offense, Running Back
Sophomore running back Chris Bausch was named to the Second-Team All-Southern League Offense after anchoring the Comets' ground game. Bausch was a steady, physical runner all season long and opened the year with a 183-yard performance against No. 11 Ventura, highlighted by a 52-yard touchdown burst that ignited the Palomar sideline.
Bubba Garcia — Second-Team Offense, Kick Returner
Freshman return specialist Bubba Garcia earned Second-Team All-Southern League Offense as a kick returner. Garcia totaled 646 yards on 25 returns, averaging more than 25 yards per attempt. His season-long 99-yard return at El Camino was one of the top plays in the league. He was also a defensive impact player with multiple interceptions and momentum-swinging plays throughout the year.
Isaiah Strong — First-Team Defense, Linebacker
Linebacker Isaiah Strong was named First-Team All-Southern League Defense after leading Palomar with 48 tackles, including 10 tackles for loss and two sacks. Strong was at the heart of Palomar's defensive identity, physical, instinctive, and consistent, and added an interception and two blocked kicks to his résumé.
Lucas Valencia — Second-Team Defense, Linebacker
Linebacker Lucas Valencia earned Second-Team All-Southern League Defense after finishing the season with 56 total tackles, five tackles for loss, an interception, and a blocked punt. Valencia showcased his versatility in all three phases and delivered one of the most complete defensive performances of the year against Riverside, where he recorded 10 tackles, a blocked punt, and an interception.
Camden Cowgill — Second-Team Defense, Punter
Sophomore punter Camden Cowgill rounded out Palomar's honorees with a Second-Team All-Southern League Defense selection. Cowgill was one of the steadiest specialists in the league, averaging 37.2 yards per punt on 30 attempts, with a long of 50 yards and an impressive 16 punts downed inside the 20.
These six honorees represent the heart of a Comet team that refused to back down all season — making plays against some of the toughest competition in the SCFA and raising the standard for what Palomar football can be.
From record-breaking performances to game-changing moments in all three phases, this group helped set the foundation for the program's continued rise. With a strong returning core and another talented recruiting class on the way, the Comets look poised to build on this momentum heading into next fall.
