Palomar Secures Road Win at MiraCosta Ahead of Regular Season Finale

OCEANSIDE, CA (2/18/2026) -- Palomar closed out its final road game of the regular season with a 74–66 victory over MiraCosta College on Wednesday night, setting up a pivotal home finale later this week.

The Comets built a 39–24 halftime lead, holding MiraCosta to just 23 percent shooting in the opening half. Though the Spartans made a second-half push, Palomar's defensive stops and timely perimeter shooting preserved the eight-point win.

Angel Ochoa led the charge with 26 points, knocking down five three-pointers and adding five assists in another strong performance. Justin White delivered 18 points and six rebounds, while Drew Pierce provided a key boost off the bench with 12 points, hitting four triples.

Isaiah Pomare controlled the glass with eight rebounds to go along with six points, and Jaidyn Norman added nine boards to help Palomar finish with a 46–42 rebounding edge.

Palomar forced 17 MiraCosta turnovers and converted them into 23 points off turnovers, a critical factor in maintaining separation during the second half.

With the win, the Comets improve to 18–9 overall and 10–5 in PCAC play, positioning themselves for a strong finish as postseason play approaches.

Palomar will return home on Friday night to host San Diego City College in the regular season finale inside the Dome.
