SAN MARCOS, CA (8/26/2025) -- Palomar men's soccer opened the 2025 season under the lights at Minkoff Field, battling but ultimately falling 4-2 to San Bernardino Valley College.
The visiting Wolverines struck quickly, putting the Comets in a 2-0 hole within the first 11 minutes. Palomar clawed back in the 23rd minute when Felix Hamm buried a finish off a setup from Brandon Barrientos to make it 2-1.
San Bernardino Valley answered before the break, converting a penalty kick in the 39th minute to stretch their lead to 3-1.
The Comets kept pushing, and after conceding a fourth goal in the 78th minute, they responded right away. Just two minutes later, Jakub Kozlowski converted a penalty kick to bring Palomar back within striking distance at 4-2. Despite the late spark, the Wolverines held on to hand the Comets the opening loss.
