SAN MARCOS, CA (11/11/2025) -- Palomar men's soccer showed tremendous fight on Sophomore Night but came up just short in a 4–3 loss to Cuyamaca College in the regular-season finale.
The Coyotes struck twice in the opening half hour before Ismael Zavala buried a penalty kick in the 33rd minute to pull the Comets within one. Cuyamaca extended its lead early in the second half with goals in the 55th and 58th minutes, but Palomar refused to fold.
Dylan Bissember sparked the comeback push, scoring twice, once in the 61st minute off a setup from Isaac Garcia, and again in the 69th minute finishing a pass from Jonatan Maelicke to make it 4–3. The Comets continued to press, but the equalizer never materialized.
Despite the loss, Palomar (11-7-3, 9-4-1 PCAC) closes the year with a strong conference campaign and will now await Sunday's playoff seeding meeting to learn their postseason path.
