Palomar Opens Moorpark Crossover with Win Over Chabot College

Moorpark, CA (12/18/2025) -- The Palomar women's basketball team opened play at the Moorpark Crossover with a solid 76–52 victory over Chabot College on Thursday night, continuing its strong nonconference stretch.

The Comets set the tone early and never trailed, building a 38–32 halftime lead before pulling away with a decisive 24–8 third quarter. Palomar's defensive pressure and balanced scoring proved too much as the Comets controlled the pace and limited Chabot to just eight points in the period.

Kylee Trujillo led all scorers with 20 points, knocking down three triples and getting to the free-throw line consistently. Luciana Aguilar added 16 points, while Kailani Flournoy posted another strong all-around effort with eight points and 13 rebounds. ReeRee Davis filled the stat sheet with eight points, six assists, and seven rebounds, and Bailey Wavrik provided a spark off the bench with seven points and eight rebounds.

Palomar finished with 20 assists on 27 made field goals, forced 27 turnovers, and held a 45–36 rebounding edge, showcasing the depth and discipline that has defined the Comets' early-season success.

Now 8–3 on the season, Palomar will continue crossover play on Friday night, facing Fresno City College in their second game of the Moorpark Crossover.
