SAN MARCOS, CA (9/12/2025) -- Palomar women's soccer made history Friday afternoon, defeating San Diego Mesa College 1-0 at Minkoff Field for their first victory over the Olympians since at least 2012, snapping a 17-game losing streak.
The decisive moment came in the 35th minute when Taylor Devaney slotted home the match's lone goal off an assist from Karlena Tamayo. From there, the Comet defense and goalkeeping unit held strong.
Nathalie Mancilla anchored the back line with six saves before Gianna Belasco came on to close out the final 25 minutes, recording two more saves to preserve the shutout. Palomar finished with 13 shots to Mesa's eight and kept the Olympians off the board in a physical contest.
With the win, the Comets (2-1-1) carry momentum into their next match, hosting Imperial Valley College on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
