SAN MARCOS, CA (9/16/2025) -- Palomar women's soccer kept the momentum rolling in conference play Tuesday afternoon, erupting for a 10-1 win over Imperial Valley College at Minkoff Field.
The Comets controlled the match from the opening whistle, scoring seven goals in the first half alone. Freshman Sophia Frederick continued her hot start to the season with a hat trick, striking twice in a three-minute span before adding another early in the second half. Reese Leichtfuss notched a hat trick of her own, with two goals before halftime and another in the 75th minute.
Naomi Allen, Eva Lopez, Mia Magana, and Nataly Cisneros each added goals as part of a balanced offensive effort. Playmakers set the tone as well, with Emma Gryn and Cisilya Martinez dishing out two assists apiece, while Allen, Lopez, Magana, Dana Moore, and Lizzy Cook each tallied one.
In goal, Gianna Belasco and Aida Lopez-Nunez split time, combining for five saves. The Comets outshot the Arabs 17-6 and never allowed Imperial Valley to find a rhythm, with their lone goal coming on a second-half penalty kick.
With the win, Palomar improves to 3-1-1 and will now travel to Santa Ana College on Friday for their final non-conference test.
