SAN DIEGO, CA (9/23/2025) -- Palomar women's soccer showed resilience in conference play Tuesday, erasing an early deficit to earn a 3-3 draw against San Diego Miramar College.
The Jets came out flying, netting three goals in the opening 20 minutes to put the Comets in a deep hole. Palomar steadied themselves and clawed back into the match before halftime when Reese Leichtfuss buried a finish off a pass from Sophia Frederick in the 30th minute.
The Comets carried that momentum into the second half. Cisilya Martinez struck in the 50th minute on a setup from Emma Gryn, trimming the deficit to one. With the clock winding down, Naomi Allen delivered the equalizer in the 85th minute, converting off an assist from Lizzy Cook to complete the comeback.
Goalkeeper Gianna Belasco was tested all afternoon, making nine saves to keep the Comets within reach. Palomar's persistence paid off as they extended their unbeaten streak to five matches with the road result.
The Comets will travel to Cuyamaca College on Friday before returning home for their biggest test of the season against Southwestern College.
