SAN MARCOS, CA (10/10/2025) -- Palomar women's soccer bounced back in a big way Friday afternoon, rolling past San Diego City College 5-1 at Minkoff Field to close out the first round of PCAC play.
The Comets struck early and never looked back. Naomi Allen opened the scoring in the 14th minute off a setup from Sophia Frederick, and minutes later, Nataly Cisneros buried a penalty kick to double the lead. Mia Magana made it 3-0 before halftime, finishing a feed from Allen to keep the pressure on.
The Knights briefly pulled one back before the break, but Palomar stayed in control. In the second half, Lizzy Cook extended the lead with a clinical finish from Eva Lopez, and Cisilya Martinez capped the scoring in the 84th minute, also assisted by Lopez, who tallied two helpers on the day.
Gianna Belasco and Aida Lopez-Nunez combined for seven saves in goal, holding City scoreless over the final 50 minutes.
With the win, Palomar (6-2-4 overall, 4-1-4 PCAC) sits in fourth place heading into the second round of conference play — trailing co-leaders Southwestern and MiraCosta, and third-place San Diego Miramar. The Comets will open the back half of their schedule on the road Tuesday at San Diego Mesa College.
