Comets Take Down Miramar in Statement Win

SAN MARCOS, CA (10/24/2025) -- Palomar women's soccer delivered one of their biggest wins of the season Friday afternoon, defeating San Diego Miramar College 4-1 at Minkoff Field.

The Comets came out firing from the opening whistle, with Lizzy Cook scoring twice in the first five minutes — first off a pass from Emma Gryn, then again on an assist from Naomi Allen — to set the tone early. After Miramar converted a penalty kick to pull within one, Palomar answered right back. Sydney Kemp buried a shot in the 25th minute on another feed from Allen, restoring the two-goal cushion.

In the second half, Sophia Frederick sealed the win with a goal in the 67th minute, assisted by Kemp. The Comet defense stayed organized and physical the rest of the way, with goalkeeper Nathalie Mancilla making two key saves to close out the match.

The 4-1 victory pushes Palomar up the conference table and reinforces their playoff push heading into the final week of PCAC play. The Comets will host Cuyamaca College on Tuesday for Sophomore Night at Minkoff Field.
