Comets Roll Past Mt. SAC to Stay Perfect

SAN MARCOS, CA (9/5/2025) --  Palomar women's water polo capped day one of the Comet Mini Tournament with another dominant showing, powering past Mt. San Antonio College 15-9 on Friday afternoon.

The Comets blitzed the Mounties with a seven-goal first quarter and extended their lead to 12-3 by halftime. Kaylin Mihelich led the charge with five goals, while Mia Fick added three. Malia Hanss chipped in a hat trick of her own, and both McKynley McCulloch and Tessa Ferragamo scored twice.

McCulloch put together a well-rounded performance with two goals and a team-high five assists, while also collecting 14 steals. Renne Provencal added two assists and a pair of steals to keep the pressure on defensively.

In the cage, Savannah Walker recorded four saves as Palomar's defense forced 25 steals overall, limiting Mt. SAC to just seven shot attempts.

The Comets (2-0) will take their unbeaten start on the road Saturday, traveling to San Diego Miramar College for a pair of non-conference matchups.
