Comets Sweep Day at Miramar Mini Tournament

SAN DIEGO, CA (9/19/2025) -- Palomar women's water polo picked up a pair of wins Friday at the San Diego Miramar College Mini Tournament, defeating Ventura College 15-9 and El Camino College 14-10 to stay unbeaten in conference play.

Against Ventura, the Comets built an early lead with a five-goal first quarter and never trailed the rest of the way. Malia Hanss paced the attack with four goals and three assists, while McKynley McCulloch scored three times and added two assists. Mia Fick also finished with a hat trick, and Tessa Ferragamo and Keyanna Mucino chipped in two goals apiece. In total, seven different Comets recorded either a goal or an assist, while Savannah Walker stopped five shots in goal.

Palomar carried the momentum into the afternoon match with El Camino, where McCulloch took over with five goals and an assist. Fick followed with four goals, including two in the fourth quarter to close out the win. Mucino scored three goals with two assists, while Renne Provencal dished out four assists to go with a goal of her own. Walker came up with seven saves in the cage.

The Comets (5-2, 1-0 PCAC) will continue tournament play Saturday as they look to extend their winning streak.
