Comets Clinch Top Seed with Win Over Mesa
SAN MARCOS, CA (10/29/2025) -- Palomar women's water polo capped its conference season in dominant fashion Wednesday afternoon, defeating San Diego Mesa College 16-6 to secure the No. 1 seed for next week's PCAC Championship Tournament.
The Comets overcame an early deficit with an explosive offensive surge, scoring 16 unanswered goals after trailing 6-0 in the opening quarter. Keyanna Mucino led the charge with five goals, while McKynley McCulloch added three goals and three assists. Malia Hanss and Ruby Jones each scored twice and combined for four assists, and Tessa Ferragamo chipped in two goals of her own.
Kaylin Mihelich and Renne Provencal rounded out the scoring, each contributing a goal and assist, while Savannah Walker and Mihelich combined for 13 saves in the cage.
With the win, Palomar improves to 17-6 overall and 5-0 in conference play, claiming the regular-season conference title and the top seed heading into the postseason.
