SAN MARCOS, CA (12/30/2025) --  No. 24 Palomar closed out its nonconference schedule in dramatic fashion on Monday night, edging Pasadena City College 88–87 in overtime inside the Dome to improve to 9–4 on the season.

After trailing by seven at halftime, the Comets erupted for 55 points in the second half, forcing overtime before finishing the job with a gritty defensive stand in the extra period. Palomar shot 63.3% from the field after halftime, flipping the momentum and turning the game into a back-and-forth battle down the stretch.

Drew Pierce delivered a huge performance, pouring in 19 points and knocking down five three-pointers, including multiple clutch makes that helped fuel the comeback. Tore-Andre Gray followed with 18 points and 10 rebounds, recording another double-double while going 7-for-9 at the free-throw line.

Justin White added 17 points and five rebounds, and Jaidyn Norman chipped in 14 points and six boards. Angel Ochoa orchestrated the offense with seven assists, while also contributing eight points and three rebounds in 42 minutes of action.

The Comets matched Pasadena City with 39 bench points and held firm defensively late, forcing key misses to seal the overtime victory.

With the win, Palomar finishes nonconference play at 9–4 and now turns its full attention back to Pacific Coast Athletic Conference action.

The Comets will return to the floor on January 3, hosting San Diego Mesa College at 7 p.m. inside the Dome.
