Comets Fall at San Diego Miramar, Look Ahead to Home Matchup vs. Imperial Valley
SAN DIEGO, CA (1/9/2026) -- Palomar saw its conference winning streak come to an end on Friday night, falling 92–87 on the road to San Diego Miramar College in a tightly contested Pacific Coast Athletic Conference matchup.
The Comets stayed within striking distance throughout, trailing by just one at halftime, but Miramar's second-half push proved to be the difference despite Palomar's late surge.
Tore-Andre Gray led all Comets with 22 points, shooting 6-of-12 from the floor and a perfect 7-for-7 at the free-throw line. Benjie Nudo followed with 21 points, knocking down three triples, while Jaidyn Norman posted a strong all-around effort with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.
Justin White added a double-double with 10 rebounds, and Angel Ochoa chipped in eight points and four rebounds as Palomar battled on the glass and at the foul line.
Palomar finished with 16 offensive rebounds, but struggled to find consistency from the perimeter, shooting 27.6% from three in the loss.
The Comets will look to bounce back on Wednesday, returning home to host Imperial Valley College in PCAC action.
