SAN MARCOS, CA (2/6/2026) -- Palomar came up just short Friday night, falling 80–79 in overtime to San Diego Miramar College in a tightly contested Pacific Coast Athletic Conference matchup inside the Dome.
The Comets controlled much of the first half, taking a 33–26 lead into the break, but Miramar surged late in regulation and the extra period behind a strong second-half shooting performance. Palomar had a chance to tie in the closing seconds of overtime, but the final look wouldn't fall.
Angel Ochoa delivered another standout effort, finishing with 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting while logging 44 minutes. Jaidyn Norman posted a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds, battling inside all night, and Tore-Andre Gray added 11 points and nine rebounds.
Justin White chipped in 12 points, and Palomar won the rebounding battle 41–41, but struggled to find rhythm from the perimeter in the second half and overtime.
With the loss, Palomar moves to 16–8 overall and 8–4 in PCAC play.
The Comets will look to rebound on the road, traveling to face Imperial Valley College on Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. tip.
