Comets Rally Late but Fall at Pasadena City

PASADENA, CA (8/29/2025) -- Palomar men's soccer showed grit on the road Friday night, but their comeback bid came up just short in a 3-2 loss to Pasadena City College at Robinson Stadium.

The Lancers built a 3-0 advantage with goals in the 21st, 46th, and 66th minutes, putting the Comets in a deep hole. Palomar refused to back down, sparking their rally just a minute later when Ismael Zavala buried a penalty kick to make it 3-1.

The pressure continued into the final stretch, and in the 85th minute, Jakub Kozlowski finished a feed from Artem Sydorenko inside the box to cut the deficit to 3-2. Despite generating chances late, the Comets couldn't find the equalizer as Pasadena held on for the narrow win.

Goalkeeper Amanueal Kidanemariam made four saves in 75 minutes before Bruin Bailey closed out the match in net with one more stop for the Comets.

Palomar (0-2) will travel to Victor Valley College on Tuesday, looking to turn momentum into results as their nonconference schedule continues.
