No. 6 Palomar Falls in Double Overtime Thriller to No. 13 Mt. San Jacinto

SAN JACINTO, CA (11/26/2025) -- In one of the wildest battles of their young season, the No. 6-ranked Palomar Comets fell 87–81 in double overtime to No. 13 Mt. San Jacinto College on Wednesday afternoon, ending a four-game win streak in a matchup loaded with swings, standout performances, and postseason-level intensity.

The Comets and Eagles traded punches all afternoon, with Palomar leading 46–43 heading into the fourth before MSJC surged late to force overtime. Both teams scored eight points in the first OT, extending the game once more, but MSJC pulled away in the second extra period.

Kylee Trujillo was unstoppable, delivering a career performance with 40 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals while playing 48 minutes. Kailani Flournoy was a force inside, posting a massive 14-point, 23-rebound double-double — one of the best rebounding efforts in program history. Ivorii Seals added 12 points, and Luciana Aguilar chipped in six points, seven rebounds, and four assists despite MSJC's defensive pressure.

Palomar pounded the paint for 52 points and racked up 16 second-chance points behind a dominant 63–45 rebounding advantage, but the Eagles' perimeter shooting and late-game execution proved decisive in the marathon contest.

The Comets (5–2) now turn the page to tournament play. Palomar will be back in action December 5 as they open the Cypress College Tournament, facing Merced College at 5 p.m.
