Palomar Drops Tight Battle to Fresno City at Moorpark Crossover

Moorpark, CA (12/19/2025) -- The Palomar women's basketball team came up just short Friday afternoon, falling 62–57 to Fresno City College in their second game of the Moorpark Crossover after a back-and-forth contest that swung late in the fourth quarter.

Palomar held an early edge and led 33–29 at halftime, but Fresno City answered with a strong fourth quarter, outscoring the Comets 25–10 over the final 10 minutes to pull away. Palomar struggled to find a rhythm offensively down the stretch, shooting just 15.4% in the fourth.

Kailani Flournoy anchored the Comets with a standout performance, finishing with 19 points and 19 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Ivorii Seals added 15 points and seven rebounds, while Kami Gillis chipped in nine points off the bench. ReeRee Davis contributed across the stat sheet with seven points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Despite holding a 51–47 rebounding advantage and forcing 17 Fresno turnovers, Palomar was unable to overcome a late surge fueled by Fresno's perimeter shooting and trips to the free-throw line.

Palomar will look to bounce back quickly as they close out the Moorpark Crossover on Saturday, facing College of the Sequoias in their final game of the weekend.
