Palomar Falls to College of the Sequoias to Close Moorpark Crossover

MOORPARK, CA (12/20/2025) -- The Palomar women's basketball team closed out the Moorpark Crossover with a 64–56 loss to College of the Sequoias on Saturday afternoon at Raider Pavilion.

The Comets struggled to find consistency offensively as Sequoias jumped out to an early lead and maintained control throughout. Palomar cut the deficit to single digits multiple times, including an 18-point second quarter that brought momentum back briefly, but Sequoias answered with timely perimeter shooting and bench production to keep the Comets at bay.

Kailani Flournoy led Palomar with 10 points and 11 rebounds, recording another double-double, while Kami Gillis finished with 12 points after knocking down three triples. Ivorii Seals added 11 points, and ReeRee Davis chipped in eight points and six rebounds.

Palomar held a 47–45 rebounding advantage, but Sequoias capitalized on second-chance opportunities and bench scoring, outpacing the Comets 27–12 in bench points. Palomar was held to 28.6% shooting from the field, which proved difficult to overcome despite solid defensive stretches.

The Comets now sit at 8–5 and will turn their attention back to nonconference play. Palomar will be back in action on December 29, traveling to LA Harbor College to close out the calendar year.
