Comets Explode for 9-2 Win Over East Los Angeles

SAN MARCOS, CA (9/2/2025) -- Palomar women's soccer closed out non-conference play with an emphatic 9-2 victory over East Los Angeles College on Tuesday afternoon at Minkoff Field.

The Huskies struck first, sneaking in a goal less than a minute into the match. The Comets regrouped quickly and responded with five straight goals, highlighted by a pair from freshman Sophia Frederick and tallies from Lizzy Cookand Keela Farnum, to take control of the match. East LA added its second goal just before halftime, but Palomar still carried a 5-2 lead into the break.

The second half was all Comets. Frederick added two more goals to complete her four-goal day, while Emma Gryn and Naomi Allen each found the net to put the match well out of reach. Cook also finished with a brace, giving Palomar four different scorers in the rout.

Midfielder Nataly Cisneros was the catalyst with three assists, while Farnum added two of her own. Contributions also came from Eva LopezKarlena Tamayo, Cook, and Allen with single helpers.

In goal, Nathalie Mancilla tallied four saves before Aida Lopez-Nunez came on to finish the match with one stop. The win sends Palomar into conference play riding momentum after a commanding offensive showcase.
