Comets Celebrate Sophomore Night with 7-1 Rout of Cuyamaca

SAN MARCOS, CA (10/28/2025) -- Palomar women's soccer capped off Sophomore Night in style Tuesday evening, rolling past Cuyamaca College 7-1 at Minkoff Field.

The Coyotes struck first just over a minute into the match, but the Comets wasted no time flipping the script. Naomi Allen answered less than 30 seconds later, sparking a first-half surge that saw Palomar score four straight before the break. Reese Leichtfuss tallied back-to-back goals, assisted by Dana Moore and Sophia Frederick, and Keela Farnum added another late in the half to give Palomar a commanding 4-1 lead at intermission.

The second half was all Comets. Taylor Devaney, Eva Lopez, and Sydney Kemp each found the back of the net, with assists coming from Leichtfuss, Madison White, and Karlena Tamayo to round out the scoring.

Gianna Belasco and Aida Lopez-Nunez combined for the win in goal, limiting Cuyamaca to a single first-half tally.
