CHULA VISTA, CA (10/31/2025) -- Palomar women's soccer picked up a huge road victory Friday afternoon, defeating conference co-leader Southwestern College 2-1 in Chula Vista.
The Comets wasted no time setting the tone. Naomi Allen opened the scoring in the 4th minute, burying a penalty kick to give Palomar the early lead. Just moments later, Allen struck again — this time finishing a setup from Taylor Devaney — to make it 2-0 before ten minutes had passed.
Southwestern converted a penalty of its own in the 32nd minute, but Palomar's back line held strong the rest of the way. Nathalie Mancilla anchored the defense in goal, keeping the Jaguars off the board in the second half to secure the win.
The result marks one of the Comets' biggest victories of the season, tightening the race near the top of the PCAC standings. Palomar will look to keep the momentum going when they travel to Grossmont College on Tuesday, aiming to avenge their 1-1 draw from earlier in the year.
