Five Comets Earn All-PCAC Honors After Standout 2025 Season

SAN DIEGO, CA (11/18/2025) -- Following one of the strongest seasons in recent program history, five members of the Palomar College women's volleyball team have earned All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference recognition. The Comets, who finished 17–7 overall and 10–5 in conference play, landed two players on the First Team and three on the Second Team.

FIRST TEAM ALL-PCAC

Teiora Tinoisamoa — Sophomore Middle Blocker

A dominant force in the middle all year, Tinoisamoa delivered 125 kills while hitting .276 and averaging 2.84 kills per set. She also finished as one of the conference's most impactful blockers, totaling 26 blocks on the season (0.59 per set). Her consistency, efficiency, and presence at the net anchored Palomar's front line throughout its playoff push.

Caden Pinto — Freshman Setter

Pinto put together one of the most impressive freshman seasons in the state, leading the Comets with 445 assists—an incredible 9.89 assists per set—while adding 26 service aces and 108 digs. Her ability to distribute the ball, run tempo, and elevate every attacker around her made her the clear engine of Palomar's offense.

SECOND TEAM ALL-PCAC

Reese Maffitt — Freshman Outside Hitter

One of the most productive freshmen in the PCAC, Maffitt led the Comets with 129 kills, averaging 2.87 kills per set while adding 20 aces and 88 digs. Her versatility on both pins and her ability to take over stretches offensively made her one of Palomar's most reliable weapons.

Sierra Schoenwald — Sophomore Middle Blocker

Schoenwald was one of the conference's top defensive middles, finishing with a team-high 46 total blocks (1.07 per set) while adding 69 kills on an impressive .284 hitting percentage. Her combination of size, timing, and efficiency gave Palomar a steady presence at the net on both sides of the ball.

Emma Bambe — Sophomore Outside Hitter

A steady six-rotation standout, Bambe tallied 105 kills (2.33 per set), 145 digs (3.22 per set), and 24 service aces. Her ability to contribute in every phase—attacking, passing, defending, and serving—made her one of the most valuable all-around players in the conference.

A Season of Growth and Impact

Behind this talented group, the Comets put together a 17-win campaign that included two victories over ranked opponents and a top-three finish in conference hitting percentage and blocking. Their balanced lineup, driven by a mix of experienced sophomores and breakout freshmen, powered Palomar to one of its most competitive seasons in recent years.

The Comets will now await their postseason seeding meeting next week as they prepare for the 3C2A playoffs.
