Comets Dominate Second Half to Blank Southwestern

SAN MARCOS, CA (10/24/2025) -- Palomar men's soccer stayed hot at home Friday night, scoring four second-half goals to earn a 4-0 shutout win over Southwestern College at Minkoff Field.

After a scoreless opening 45 minutes, the Comets came alive in the second half. Dylan Bissember broke the deadlock in the 57th minute with a perfectly struck direct free kick to make it 1-0. From there, the floodgates opened.

Jakub Kozlowski doubled the lead in the 77th minute off a setup from Felix Hamm, and Ibrahim Joubran converted a penalty kick in the 85th to make it 3-0. Two minutes later, Artem Sydorenko capped the performance with a goal assisted by Kozlowski and Isaac Garcia.

Goalkeeper Amanueal Kidanemariam and the Comet back line locked down the Jaguars for the team's third shutout of the season.

With the win, Palomar improves to 9-4-3 overall and 7-1-1 in PCAC play, remaining firmly in the hunt for the conference title.
